On 6 October to 18 October 2019, ADRA Laos had the pleasure to host a wonderful group of volunteers from Really Living in Hamilton, Canada under the project Phoukoud WASH and Inclusion Project in Phoukoud District, Xiengkhouang Province.
The project consisted of five main activities:
- Water system construction
- Construction of greenhouse
- PWD toilet
- Distribution of materials (water filters, mosquito nets, stationaries, and clothes)
- Hygiene activities in a local school
The team have been working alongside community members, government partners and ADRA staff to help construct a new Gravity Fed Water System in Xayoudom Village which includes a filtration tank, storage tank, and digging trenches.
Like water construction, kid’s club took place in Sayoudom Village. The volunteers taught elementary school children the important of personal hygiene, demonstrated how to wash hands and brush teeth, crafts, songs, dances, games and did some exercises.
They are also constructed greenhouses in Yortpair, They were able to complete approximately 75% of the work, finishing two and a half greenhouses, supporting the construction of a disabled latrine at Xay, and distributed water filters to Namsan Village.
Thank you Really Living Team for all that you have shared.
